The London and Slough Run has a board of Trustees who meet quarterly to review financial matters as well as looking at the overall management of the ‘Runs’. Introducing:
John Power – Chairman
John has been a volunteer for the past 14 years and has been Chairman for the last 10 years. In addition to his role as Chairman, John has been the key driving force in launching the Winter Night Shelter which has been successfully taking homeless people off the streets in the coldest months of the year since 2014.
Nuala Fox – Trustee and Secretary – Nuala has been involved with the London & Slough Run for approx 25 years, originally as Secretary and later as a Trustee. Nuala manages the website and social media pages as well as being an active member of the fundraising and event organising team.
Philip Highy – Trustee and Slough Runner After a number of years volunteering with the LASR in Slough, Philip became a Trustee in 2011. Over the last few years Philip has built a link between the LASR and Eton College. During 2018 he arranged for over 70 boys to see the Night Shelter in operation. In 2019 and early 2020 he arranged for a team of boys from Eton College look after the provision of food at one of the night shelter locations on a Monday evening. Philip is also part of the organising committee for the joint Carol Service with Rotary Windsor St George at Eton College Chapel in December 2021.
Malcolm Johnstone – Trustee and GX Runner Malcolm is retired and helps extensively at St Joseph’s Church, which is the Gerrards Cross end of the London & Slough Run. He manages the continuity of supplies of food and clothing for the homeless run and is an active member of the fundraising/event team. In addition, Malcolm is the Chairman of the Slough Homeless Forum and this year won the ‘Volunteer Award’ at the Berkshire High Sherrifs Awards.
Christina Brackenridge – Trustee and Slough Runner Christina joined the Board of Trustees in 2015, having been a volunteer with the London & Slough Run for several years. Christina has been actively involved with the Slough Sunday Run and is also a member of the fundraising/event organising team.
John Goudie – Trustee and GX Runner John joined the charity in the mid-1990’s as a driver to Lincoln’s Inn Fields in London. These days he is a member of the Slough Run and Slough Winter Night Shelter teams and performs outreach to rough sleepers and those we have helped to house in Slough. In recognition of John’s tireless work for the homeless, he was awarded ‘Slough Volunteer of the Year’ at the CVS Awards ceremony in 2017 and an Area Commander’s Commendation from Thames Valley Police in 2020.
