Night Shelter project extended to the end of March

Lights outThe trustees of the London and Slough run have voted to extend the winter night shelter project by three weeks to the end of March. Churches hosting the project have been very supportive of the project and consider it a great blessing. To date over one hundred volunteers have been involved in making the initiative a success for those homeless and sleeping rough on the streets of Slough.

Slough homeless our concern (SHOC) have been referring their clients onto the project once they have been through a screening process. The feedback SHOC have had  from their clients has been very encouraging. They are very grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to them by the people of Slough. Local restaurants and shops have also been very generous in their donations. The housekeeping team at the  Hilton Hotel group have been very kind in ensuring that bedding used at the Shelters is laundered regularly. Thames valley police have also been very supportive of the initiative and have had PCSOs in place at pick up points to ensure everything runs smoothly. The trustees of the London and Slough run would like to thank all those who have been involved in the project for helping make it a very valuable and worthwhile initiative.
