Thank you so much to the 2nd Burnham Guide Group who made me very welcome last night to talk about the works of The London and Slough Run. I hope the girls found it interesting and thought provoking…….some very good questions raised by all. Thank you very much for your generosity in donating tins of food which will be used on the ‘Runs’.
A plea for help!
The shed at the Gerrards Cross location for storing and depositing food and clothing for the homeless runs is about to fall down! Does anyone out there have a shed they would like to get rid of/donate?? If so, please contact us via the Contact Form……..many thanks.

A Change to Clothes Distribution – The American Church
For many years now, the London Runs have been distributing clothing from the back of the minibuses on the Monday night ’Runs’. More recently, this method has been causing problems, in that it has not been possible to distribute the clothing fairly.

Westminster Proposed bylaw will criminalise rough sleepers and soup runs
On 24th February 2011, Westminster Council started a public consultation on a byelaw that will make it an offence to both sleep rough and to distribute free food to homeless people in a large area of central London around Victoria. The consultation closes on 25th March. Westminster council argues that rough sleeping has no place in the 21st century and that existing services are adequate; they also say that soup runs encourage rough sleepers to stay on the street.

London and Slough Run supporting SHOC
At a recent meeting between Ray Waite, (SHOC), Brid Vaughan and John Power (London and Slough Run), a cheque was presented to SHOC on behalf of the London and Slough Run for £3,000. This was a contribution towards their food costs for the homeless and was the second donation of this kind made by the Charity.
